Album : commonplace book, ca.1832-1843.

A collection of nature, elegiac and religious poetry, mostly signed "E.M.G." Two friendship poems are addressed to "Lydia," while the name "J. Rhoades, Providence, R.I., 1832" appears on the inside back cover. There are several poems about England, and two poems on William Henry Harrison (1841); also includes a transcription of "A Visit from St. Nicholas," which begins, "'Twas the night before New Year's...," and has the names "Lancer" and "Blixen" substituted for "Dancer" and "Blitzen."
